The event will take place at the National Arboretum Canberra and will celebrate Australian red meat over dinner and discussion on securing the future prosperity of our industry.
Special guest speakers Hon John Anderson AO and David Crombie AM and current MLA Chair Dr Michele Allan will reflect on the Australian red meat and livestock industry’s achievements over two decades and, as importantly, the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Hon John Anderson AO
John Anderson is a sixth-generation farmer and grazier from New South Wales, who spent 19 years from 1989 in the Australian Parliament. He served as a senior Cabinet minister in the reformist government led by John Howard (1996 to 2005), one of the most successful governments in Australian parliamentary history. This included six years as Leader of the National Party and Deputy Prime Minister.
As an esteemed elder statesman in Australia, his commentary is often sought out. He has recently been published on topics such as civic freedoms, global food security, modern slavery and the economy. He currently farms on the family property whilst also being active through various directorships, in public speaking and in the not-for-profit sector. John is strongly committed to Christian mission and serves as the Board Chair of Overseas Council Australia.
David Crombie AM
David Crombie is a Director of the Australian Agricultural Company and an Advisory Board member for the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI).
David is a former Commissioner of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), past President of the National Farmers Federation, former Chairman of MLA and a former Director of Grainco Australia, the Meat Industry Council and Export Finance Insurance Corporation. David operates family properties in southern Queensland, breeding cattle and farming.
